Nieuwe werken goede invulling van mvo-beleid

Organisaties die plaats- en tijdsonafhankelijk werken invoeren geven op die manier handen en voeten aan hun beleid voor maatschappelijk verantwoord ondernemen (mvo).

Dat is een van de uitkomsten van de jaarlijks terugkerende Nationale ICT-enquête die Afas en Kluwer dit voorjaar hielden. In de online enquête waar ruim drieduizend respondenten aan meededen gaf een kwart van de respondenten aan dat zij onder mvo verstaan dat een organisatie meer aandacht heeft voor de impact van de bedrijfsvoering op het milieu.

Nieuwe werken

Eenvijfde, 21 procent, vindt de invoering van het nieuwe werken, waarbij werknemers plaats- en tijdsonafhankelijk via internet hun werk kunnen doen een goed voorbeeld van mvo-beleid. De rest van de respondenten houdt het bij een ruimere definitie waarbij onder mvo-beleid wordt verstaan dat organisaties meer oog hebben voor het eigen personeel en de impact van de bedrijfsvoering op de samenleving.

Niet overboord

Organisaties blijken mvo niet overboord gegooid te hebben nu de economie tegenzit. Driekwart van de ondervraagden heeft op dit moment een MVO-beleid of is bezig met een analyse van de impact van de eigen bedrijfsactiviteiten op de samenleving en het milieu. De economische situatie staat daarbij volgens een ruime meerderheid (68 procent) de ontwikkelingen op dit gebied niet in de weg. Een meerderheid van 71 procent vindt dat mvo de eigen organisatie een voordeel ten opzichte van de concurrentie oplevert. Bijna alle respondenten (96 procent) vinden dat ICT een cruciale rol speelt bij het realiseren van mvo-doelstellingen en de invoering van duurzaam werken.
